Frodsham Church

Our Church Story

We are a lively, busy church aiming to share God’s Love in our community. There is plenty going on for all ages and a warm welcome is extended to all

We have a monthly pattern for Sunday Worship:

  • 9.30 am  1st Sunday - Holy Communion.
  • 9.30 am 2nd and 4th Sundays - 09.30 Live! (see separate information).
  • 9.30 am 3rd Sunday - Group discussion on a theme which is introduced by a Worship Leader .
  • 10.45 every week - Morning worship which can include Holy Communion. The children join us for the first 10 minutes of this service and then go to the hall for their own activities. Fellowship continues over a cup of tea / coffee after the service.
  • 6pm every week - Evening worship which is a more traditional type of service.

Fellowship Groups:

  • Retired Men’s Club meets on Monday mornings at 10.30am. It is a forum for discussion on a variety of topics – often putting the world to rights!
  • Ladies Group meets on alternate Mondays at 7.30pm and have a planned programme with visiting speakers and outings.
  • Women’s Fellowship meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 2.15pm. The ladies enjoy meeting with friends and listening to a variety of speakers.

Regular Activities:

  • Stitching Class meets every Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4pm. They hold an annual exhibition to raise money for Claire House Hospice.
  • Toddlers’ Group meets on Thursday mornings at 9.15 to 11.15 am. Their session includes play, a craft activity, a healthy snack and a sing song.
  • 09.30 Live! is a lively half-hour of music, drama, interactive learning, prayer, games, video clips and much more besides – worship with a simple theme for all the family. Church, but not as you know it! (not to mention craft and bacon butties afterwards!). Everyone is very welcome.

Frodsham Methodist Church is a Fair Trade church. We use fairly-traded tea, coffee and sugar for all church functions, and have a Traidcraft stall on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and at special events.  We regularly raise funds for Christian Aid, Action for Children, MHA, Save the Family and a number of other charities, both local and overseas.

NORLEY Methodist Church

‘The calling of Norley Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship, mission and action’.

We worship every Sunday morning at 10.45 am and most Sunday evenings at 6.30 pm. On the second Sunday evening each month we share in worship at St John’s Norley Church of England. On the 3rd Sunday mornings, we have Norley@9, an informal time of worship and discussion for all ages. Sunday School, for children aged 3 to 12, meets on other Sunday mornings concurrently with morning worship. All are welcome to worship.

Two singing groups meet to rehearse and sing in Sunday worship on special occasions.

Craft Club meets every Tuesday at 10 am for a time of craft-making together. All are welcome.

Lunches are served every 2nd Wednesday and 4th Thursday in the month at 12 noon. All are welcome but it is helpful to know numbers beforehand – please use the email contact or speak to someone from church by the prior Sunday. A charge of £3.50 is made for a 2-course lunch with tea/coffee.

Wednesday Walkers meet at church and set out every 1st Wednesday in the month all the year round for a walk, including lunch stop. Details of walks are usually given in the Magazine section of our own website.

In recognition of our commitment to global economic justice, we have been formally awarded Fair Trade status by the Fair Trade Foundation. We also have a policy of using local suppliers of produce to support the Cheshire farming communities and the Norley village store.

The church offers warm, easy-to-access, comfortable and hospitable premises for community use. Amplification equipment is readily available. Our kitchen is fully equipped, meeting local authority approved Health & Safety requirements.
